WBB Kacee Baumhower Signing

Women's Basketball Adds Transfer Kacee Baumhower to Incoming Class

April 18, 2024

MILWAUKEE – On Thursday, Milwaukee head women's basketball coach Kyle Rechlicz announced the addition of Kacee Baumhower to the Panthers' roster for the 2024-25 season.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Kacee," commented Rechlicz. "Her ability to extend the defense with her range and her craftiness around the rim will make an immediate impact this upcoming season."

Baumhower will be transferring to Milwaukee from fellow Horizon League member, Wright State, where she had been a member of the Raiders' team for the past two seasons as a starter.

"We had been searching for someone with experience at the wing position and Kacee has an abundance of it," Rechlicz added. "She immediately clicked with our staff and team on her visit and we can't wait to get her on campus to work with our current players."

In 65 games, including 57 starts, for Wright State she averaged just shy of 30 minutes per game and averaged 11 points per game over her two years, including 12.5 points per contest this most recent season in 2023-24.

She shot 38.3 percent overall from the field with 235 makes and converted 30 percent of her attempts with 86 three-pointers. Baumhower secured over 100 rebounds in each of her two seasons in Dayton, while also adding 164 assists, 67 steals, and 13 blocks.

Before helping Wright State to 26 wins over the past two seasons, Baumhower had originally played with St. Bonaventure in the Atlantic 10 Conference. In just five games during her freshman season, she contributed with a three-point make against non-conference Canisius on November 17 for her first career points during the 2021-22 season.

Baumhower was a four-year starter and three-year captain at Sylvania Northview High School in Northern Ohio. While in high school she was a three-time All-Ohio honoree, and finished her high school career with 1,378 points, helping the Wildcats to a 20-win District Championship season as a senior.

Baumhower joins an incoming class of CeCe McNair and Kallie Peppler, who announced their intentions to play for the Panthers in November.
