Women's Basketball Falls in Road Matchup at Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – The Milwaukee women's basketball team fell on the road to the Wisconsin Badgers by an 82-45 score at the Kohl Center.
 
Kacee Baumhower led the Panthers with 11 points, while Jada Donaldson added 10. Donaldson and Jorey Buwalda led MKE with five rebounds each.
 
Milwaukee ended the game making 30.5 percent from the field, while the host Badgers knocked down 47.8 percent from the floor including nine from three.
 
Tess Myers led Wisconsin with five makes from distance as she and Carter McCray paced the Badgers with 15 points apiece. Serah Williams had 14 points and Ronnie Porter added 11 points for UW.
 
The Badgers finished the game with 52 rebounds, including a team-best nine from McCray, to Milwaukee's 27.
 
Wisconsin outscored Milwaukee 22-11 in the opening quarter. Donaldson scored five of Milwaukee's points, including the team's first three-point make of the game from the right corner off a strong pass from the lane by Kamy Peppler.
 
Wisconsin took a 42-22 lead into the halftime break as the Badgers held Milwaukee to 8-of-29 from the field. UW controlled the glass with a 29-11 advantage through the first 20 minutes, including a 12-4 margin on the offensive glass.
 
In the second half, Wisconsin continued its hot shooting adding 40 second-half points, while holding the Panthers to just 23.
 
Payton Rechlicz scored seven points and led the team with two steals. Buwalda had six points to go with her five rebounds.
 
Milwaukee will return to play on Wednesday evening, when the team visits nationally ranked Kansas State. Tip time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas.
