MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Milwaukee women's basketball team traveled to the Bramlage Coliseum to take on the No. 10 Kansas State Wildcats and fell to its host by a 111-46 score.

Six players scored in double figures for K-State, including a game-best 25 points on 11-of-15 from the field from Ayoka Lee. Meanwhile, Zyanna Walker had a near triple-double with 13 points, nine assists and nine rebounds. The Wildcats connected on 60 percent of their shot attempts, while holding Milwaukee to 30.2 percent from the field.

"I'm proud of our post players for not backing down to the challenge of defending Ayoka Lee, who's one of the best players in the country," commented head coach
Kyle Rechlicz after the game.

Leading the way for Milwaukee was
Jorey Buwalda with eight points, with
Kacee Baumhower scoring seven. Baumhower's scoring included a three-point basket midway through the third quarter for the 100th three pointer of her career. Â
Sophia Rampulla knocked down a pair of threes for six points and
Jada Donaldson scored five.

Izzy Pugh and
Payton Rechlicz led the way on the glass with three rebounds apiece, while Rampulla led the Panthers with two assists.
Kallie Peppler picked up a pair of steals and Pugh added three blocks on the defensive side.

"I felt like we played very hard, and did not quit," Rechlicz added. "We had a mindset of moving on from one segment and re-focusing onto the next segment of the game. This game wasn't lost because of our lack of effort."

Kansas State opened the game with 10 unanswered and did not look back, taking a 54-18 lead at halftime before scoring 57 points in the second half.

Milwaukee will return to play against Northern Illinois on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. at the Klotsche Center.
