Panthers Held in Check at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill.  – Northwestern scored four runs in the second inning and the pitching staff did the rest, holding the Milwaukee baseball team to just four hits on Tuesday night in an 8-0 loss.

The Panthers, who just finished their seventh game in eight games, could not get anything going offensively against the Big Ten opponent.

Milwaukee (14-21 overall) had base runners in six of the nine frames but could not plate anything and left eight on base.

Nate DeYoung earned the start and was charged with the loss after allowing four runs in 1.2 innings.

Northwestern (19-17 overall) added runs in the third and fourth and two more in the sixth to complete the scoring.

Five total pitchers chipped in for Milwaukee. Curtis Sheahan had a nice eighth inning for MKE, needing just seven pitches in a scoreless frame.

Luke Seidel reached twice for the Panthers, getting hit by a pitch in the first and adding an infield single in the sixth inning.

Milwaukee will be back in action tomorrow as it hosts MSOE from American Family Field at 6:00 pm. Live coverage links available on MKEPanthers.com.
