YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Freshman
Avery Durham rallied back in singles play to earn a point for the Milwaukee tennis team, but the Panthers fell to league leaders Youngstown State, 6-1 Saturday afternoon.
Milwaukee (7-13, 2-3) did its best to keep up with Youngstown State (11-8, 5-0) Saturday, forcing three singles matches to a tiebreaker, but came up short in the end.
Durham reached double digits, earning her 10
th win of the season with a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) victory over YSU's Jessica Stanmore.
Sophomore
Babette Burgersdijk and senior
Anika Tylek each won a set against their YSU opponent, but were unable to close it out, falling 7-6 (5-7), 2-6, 0-1 (9-11) and 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (8-10) respectively.
The Black & Gold will wrap up the regular season at home next Saturday, April 23 against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. at Elite – River Glen.
