DES MOINES, Iowa – Senior
Mayya Perova tallied her seventh-straight singles win, but the Milwaukee Tennis team fell to the Drake Bulldogs Saturday afternoon 6-1 from the Knapp Tennis Center.
The Panthers (3-7) gave it their all Saturday at the Knapp Tennis Center, but fell on the road against a hot Bulldogs (7-3) team, 6-1.
After winning just one game in the first set, Perova rallied back to win the next two sets and clinch the match, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6) over Drake's No. 2, Ines Stephani. With the win, the Moscow native improved to 9-1 overall.
Sophomore
Greta Carbone bounced back, 6-1 in the second set after dropping the first set 6-2, but came up short in the third, falling 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
Sunday features an all-panther matchup as MKE will take on Northern Iowa tomorrow morning from the Black Hawk Tennis Center. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
