INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Milwaukee tennis team won the doubles point, but suffered a 6-1 loss to Butler Saturday afternoon from the Butler Bubble.
Seniors
Nikki Milner and
Mayya Perova improved to 3-0 together with a 6-4 victory over Butler's Sara Linn and Logan White. Milwaukee clinched the doubles point when
Greta Carbone and
Iva Stejskalova won 7-6 (7-2) from the No. 1 doubles line. With the win, Carbone and Stejskalova also advanced to 3-0.
In singles, Milwaukee struggled to carry the momentum from winning doubles.
Milner came back in the second set, 6-1, after dropping the first set, but came up short in the third, falling 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
The Black & Gold will look to bounce back in a Panther vs Panther dual Sunday at Eastern Illinois. First serve is set for 12 p.m. (CT).
