Goba and LaScala Set to Join MKE in 2023

Panthers add two Wisconsin standouts

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Kati Goba and Jordan LaScala have officially signed their letters of intent and will join the Milwaukee volleyball for the 2023 season, head coach Susie Johnson announced on Wednesday.

"Both of our 2023 recruits are high-intelligence student-athletes who come from really competitive high school programs that both went to state this year," Johnson said.

Goba joins the Panthers after a standout career at Wisconsin Lutheran High School where she was named All-Conference and All-State in 2021. The libero also garnered numerous accolades with Milwaukee Sting, being named a 2019 AAU All-American and a member of the AVCA Phenom List in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, Goba was a member of the 2021 USAVB Nationals All-Tournament team and was named to the 2022 JVA Watch List. The Mukwonago, Wisconsin, native earned a spot on the Honor Roll all four years and is also a member of the National Honors Society.

"Kati is a great libero," Johnson continued. "She has a lot of high-level club experience and comes from winning programs. We are excited to add such a dynamic back court player to our program."

An outside hitter from Middleton High School, LaScala was named First Team All-Conference each year. As a junior, she collected a First Team All-Area nod and was named All-State Honorable Mention. LaScala recorded over 1,000 kills in her career, helping lead the Cardinals to back-to-back conference titles. She helped lead her club, Capital Volleyball Academy, to a third-place finish at nationals in the premier bracket. LaScala is also a member of the National Honors Society at Middleton.

"Jordan is an athletic six-rotation player from Wisconsin. I really like keeping the talent in state," Johnson said. "She is a quick-twitch competitor and will give us depth in the outside hitter position."
