ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Milwaukee tennis team completed the series sweep over Oakland with a 6-1 victory this Sunday afternoon from the Oakland Tennis Courts.
The Panthers dropped just one match the entire series against the Golden Grizzlies. MKE improves to 12-7, 5-5 with the win, while Oakland drops to 2-16, 2-8.
"We looked much better in doubles and I'm really happy to see how well we made those few adjustments from yesterday," said head coach
Jason Potthoff. "Oakland definitely played better in singles today so we really had to buckle down and handle our business. It's nice to get another sweep and now we need to rest and get focused for next weekend."

Mayya Perova and
Anika Tylek kicked things off for the Panthers with a 6-0 sweep over Oakland's Joelle Tabernal and Emma Hultqvist.
Greta Carbone and
Nikki Milner were leading 4-2 from the No. 1 spot, but the Perova and Tylek sweep clinched the doubles point for the Black & Gold.
Greta Carbone continues to shine in her freshman campaign, winning in straight sets Sunday, 6-2, 6-4, over Yasmin Glazbrock. In earning two wins this series, Carbone is now tied with Cleveland State's Miruna Vasilescu for the most singles wins (14) from the No. 1 spot in league play.
Next, juniors
Nikki Milner and
Anika Tylek went to three sets, but came out on top winning 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 and 0-6, 6-3, 6-2, respectively.
Panther's
Mayya Perova found herself down 3-6 after the first set, but roared back winning 6-3 the next set, and 10-8 in the tiebreaker for the win.
A spot into the Horizon League Tournament is at stake and the Panthers will play in it's final regular season series against Cleveland State beginning April 24 at 1 p.m from River Glen Elite.
