MILWAUKEE, Wis. – With just four regular season matches remaining, the Milwaukee tennis team will hit the road this weekend for a two-match series against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies beginning Saturday from the Oakland Tennis Courts.
Last Time Out: UIC came away with a 2-0 sweep over the Black & Gold, but MKE's
Greta Carbone swept Flames' Tamara Malazoni from the No. 1 singles spot. She won 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday and followed up with a 5-7, 6-2, 10-3 victory the next day. With the wins, Carbone improves to 13-3, 7-1 record.
About the Golden Grizzlies: Currently, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies are 2-14, 2-6 and sit in sixth place in the Horizon League standings – one place below the Panthers.
Junior Yasmin Glazbrook lead the Golden Grizzlies with a 5-11, 3-5 record from the singles line – competing primarily from the No. 1 spot. In doubles, Glazbrook is teamed up with Nirva Patel primarily and are 5-5 at the No. 1 doubles line.
Mamma Mia! – Freshman
Greta Carbone continues to make a strong case for Freshman of the Year while accumulating a 13-3, 7-1 record so far this season. Of those 13 wins, Carbone has tallied all but one of those victories from the No. 1 line. She is currently on a five-match win streak and is 7-3 in her last 10 matches.
Mayya Perova also earned the prestigious award back in 2019. Perova went 13-8 overall and went 6-3 in Horizon League Play from the No. 2 and No. 3 singles lines. She was also teamed up with Alex Belle and
Nicole Clarke throughout the season, amassing a 21-2 overall record.

Anna Daniel Fuentes is having a career year – accumulating 12 singles wins already, tying her career high. Daniel Fuentes is 12-4 overall, second on the team, and 8-1 from the No. 4 line. In her last 10 matches, she holds a 7-3 record.
The Tarragona native is also teamed up with classmate
Agata Jurczak and the two lead the team with an 11-5, 4-3 record.
No Fan Attendance: Just a reminder that there is no fan attendance allowed at River Glen Elite.
Horizon League Standings: After this weekend, the Panthers have just two remaining conference matches. The team will host Cleveland State to close out the season and what will likely be a battle for a place in the Horizon League Tournament. Here are the current standings:
