MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Everything clicked for the Milwaukee women's volleyball team on Thursday evening, as the Panthers dispatched Robert Morris 3-0 at the Klotsche Center to earn their eighth straight victory.
"I was happy to see our team come through with our serving plan and it worked out very well," head coach
Susie Johnson said. That was a focus for tonight. Our goal was to get better and be more disciplined and we did as the match went on. "
Milwaukee (14-6, 8-0 Horizon League) held Robert Morris to just 16 total kills and a .013 attack percentage in the win. The Panthers also served up a season-high 12 aces.
As they did on Tuesday, the Panthers (14-6, 8-0 Horizon League) got off to a blazing start, hitting .556 with 16 kills and just one error on their way to a 25-13 victory in set one.
In the second, the defense did their job and totaled 13 digs and a block to hold Robert Morris (9-10, 2-5 Horizon League) to just six kills. The Panthers' trio

Carmen Heilemann, and
Abby Koenen paced the way with three kills apiece in a 25-17 victory.
It was all Milwaukee in the third frame as the Panthers used an impressive run to put away the Colonials. Up 5-3, the Panthers scored 16 of the next 19 points for a 21-6 advantage. After an RMU kill, Klea Cerniauskaite responded with a kill and
Rylie Vaughn cashed in for two aces as Milwaukee rolled to a 25-8 set win for the sweep.
MKE had eight service aces in the third set alone.
Heilemann did a little bit of everything on Thursday night as she totaled 11 kills, a career-high five service aces, and seven digs.
Miller also put away 11 kills, connecting at a .533 clip.
Jess Grabowski led all players with 11 digs.
Lauren Spaulding recorded seven digs on the defensive end.
Vaughn dished up 33 assists in addition to four digs and three aces.
Milwaukee next hosts Youngstown State at the Klotsche Center on Sunday, October 17 at 1:00 pm.
