MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After a 2-0 weekend, the Milwaukee tennis team swept the Horizon League Women's Players of the Week Awards.
Nicole Clarke earned Singles Player of the Week while duo
Mayya Perova and
Anika Tylek were tabbed Doubles Team of the Week.
Like the team, senior
Nicole Clarke went 2-0 last weekend with wins over Valparaiso and Chicago State. With the two wins, Clarke remains undefeated at 6-0 so far this season. In both matches, Clarke won in straight sets defeating Valpo's Amanda Tabanera 6-3, 6-2 and Chicago State's Katarina Drazic, 7-5, 6-2.
Earning their first league award, sophomores
Mayya Perova and
Anika Tylek also swept the weekend helping the Panthers to 4-2 overall. From the No. 2 line, Perova and Tylek defeated Crusaders' Demi Jhaveri and Isabella Schoolcraft 6-2 and Cougar's Katarina Dukic and Susana Andres 6-4.
Next up, the Panthers will travel to Bradley for a Sunday showdown against the Braves beginning at 11 a.m.
