MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Thanks to another stellar defensive weekend, Milwaukee volleyball's Jess Grabowski has been named the Nike® Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week.
 
The award is Grabowski's second of her career, the first coming on September 17, 2018.
 
Grabowski was instrumental for Milwaukee at the Panther Invitational, helping MKE to three victories. The sophomore led the back line with 58 digs, averaging 5.8 per set. In 35 serve receptions, Grabowski was perfect, not recording an error.
 
The Greendale, Wis. native reached double digit digs in all three games including 22 in a 3-0 sweep of SEMO. In a 3-1 win over Butler, Grabowski totaled 20 digs and three service aces.
 
Grabowski and the Panthers' defense flustered the opposition all weekend, holding opponents to a .156 attack percentage.
 
Grabowski and the 8-1 Panthers will next host Northern Illinois on Tuesday, September 17 before a weekend tournament in Brookings, South Dakota. Live coverage links for all matches can be found on MKEPanthers.com.
