Annie Eschenbach Selected as Horizon League Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League announced Tuesday afternoon that Milwaukee volleyball's Annie Eschenbach has been named the League Player of the Week.
 
Eschenbach was named the St. Thomas Tommie Invitational Most Valuable Player this past weekend, helping the Panthers to three wins and a tournament title. Milwaukee recorded wins over UIC, Montana State, and host St. Thomas to improve to 3-3 on the young season.
 
Over the three matches in St. Paul, Eschenbach led Milwaukee with 45 points, contributing on both sides of the ball. She finished with a team-high 41 kills and added eight blocks on the defensive end. She hit .360 on the week on 89 attempts while chipping in with five digs and an assist.
 
Through six matches in 2026, Eschenbach leads the team with 63 kills and is hitting .255, with 14 blocks, five digs and an assist. After averaging 3.42 kills per set this past weekend, she has raised her season average to a team-best 2.86 kills per set.
 
Through two seasons with the Panthers, Eschenbach has appeared in 34 matches and played in 109 sets. She has exactly 200 kills in her Milwaukee career and is hitting .202, while adding 45 digs and 71 blocks defensively.
 
The weekly honor from the Horizon League is the first of her career with Milwaukee.
 
Milwaukee continues the non-conference portion of its schedule on Thursday with the first of two matches against Indiana State. The Panthers and Sycamores will meet at 5:00 p.m. Thursday and 4:00 p.m. Friday.
