Tennis Prepare for Horizon League Tournament

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee tennis team returns to the Horizon League Tournament after a two-year layoff as the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 Wright State in the Quarterfinal matchup. Dependent on weather, the team will kick off its match either at 2 p.m. (CT) if outdoors or 5 p.m. (CT) if indoors, Friday, April 26 from the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Ind.

With a 13-9, 6-3 record, the Panthers return to the league tournament as the No. 4 seed. UIC earned the top seed this year with Cleveland State and Oakland as the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds. Also making the tournament are Wright State and Detroit Mercy to round out the bracket.

BY THE NUMBERS: After coming up short of making the tournament last season, the Panthers turned around its record and returned to the league tournament for the first time in two years.

The Panthers finished 13-9, 6-3 this season – a six-win improvement overall and a three-win increase from a season ago.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: The winner of the dual will take on No. 1 seed UIC in the Semifinals Saturday with the Championship taking place the next day.
