MILWAUKEE, Wis. – In a Panthers vs. Panthers Friday feature, the Milwaukee tennis team came out on top 6-1 Friday afternoon from River Glen Elite.
The Milwaukee Panthers (6-6) improved its match streak to four with a 6-1 win over the Northern Iowa Panthers (2-3).
MKE started off on the right foot earning the doubles point when the Panthers won two-of-three matches. At line one,
Nicole Clarke and
Mayya Perova defeated Reghan Lynch and Claudia Toledo, 6-2. Tied at one match each after UNI took line three, MKE earned the doubles point when
Nicole Clarke and
Mayya Perova won 6-1.
In singles, took care of business winning all but one match.
From the No. 4 position, sophomore
Agata Jurczak dropped the first set 2-6, but fought back winning the next two sets 6-0 and 6-2 while giving up just two games.
The rest of the Panther squad,
Alexandra Belle,
Mayya Perova,
Nikki Milner and
Anna Daniel Fuentes won in straight sets for the team's sixth win this season.
MKE will travel to Lake Geneva (Wis.) Saturday to take on DIII powerhouse, UW-Whitewater. The final non-conference dual will take place at the Lake Geneva Tennis Club and is set to begin at 5 p.m.
