DeLAND, Fla. – In day two of the Stetson Invitational, the Milwaukee tennis team matched up against defending and three-time NCAA Division II National Champions Barry University. The Panthers were led by
Anna Daniel Fuentes and
Agata Jurczak who picked up a doubles win against the Buccaneers.
At one point in the match, Daniel Fuentes and Jurczak found themselves trailing 5-1, but rallied all the way back to defeat Buczynska and Versier by a final score of 7-6 (6).
In singles, Panthers'
Mayya Perova went toe-to-toe with Barry's No. 1, Xiyao Wang with the match coming down to the tie-breaker. Perova forced the tiebreaker after coming back in the second set winning 6-4, but came up just shy in the end, 10-6.
Milwaukee will take on New Mexico State to wrap up the three-day Stetson Invitational Sunday. First serve is set for 7 a.m. (CT) at the Rec Courts held on campus.
