Weather Puts a Damper on Bluejay Invite

OMAHA, Neb. – Agata Jurczak and Anna Daniel Fuentes earned a double's win in the consolation draw leading the Milwaukee tennis team Saturday morning at the Bluejay Invitational hosted by Creighton. Action was suspended at 11 a.m. due to weather which eventually led to the rest of the tournament to be canceled.

After winning their first two matches yesterday, Alexandra Belle and Mayya Perova set themselves up for a Flight A Finals showdown against North Dakota's Kaede Amano and Preethi Kasilingam. The Panther duo fought well, but fell to the Fighting Hawks, 6-3.

Also, in Flight A, Nicole Clarke and Nikki Milner battled with Marie Kapelevich and Natalie Lorentz of Omaha but came up shy of a victory 6-2 – placing fourth in the tournament.

In Flight B, Jurczak and Daniel Fuentes won their match 7-5 over North Dakota's Alex Revenig and Jaylee Yasunaga. The duo was set to face Omaha's Rylee Tucker and Clare Crockett next, but the match never got played due to weather.

MKE will be back in action on Oct. 5-6 for the Warhawk Fall Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater.
