MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Labina Petrovska and the Milwaukee tennis team captured a 7-0 sweep over conference foe Green Bay Saturday afternoon from River Glen Elite.
With a prematch celebration of Milwaukee's senior
Labina Petrovska and the final home match of Milwaukee's season, the Panthers had a lot of motivation to close out the season with a victory.
The Panthers went straight to work taking the doubles point, and sweeping singles play in straight sets.
"It was great for Labina to be able to get the clinching fourth point on her Senior Day," said Milwaukee head coach
Jason Potthoff. "She's done so much for this program, and I'm happy the girls could help her finish out the season with a dominant win."
Petrovska tallied a dominate 6-1, 6-2 win over Theresa Tebon from the No. 1 position to clinch the winning point for Milwaukee, but not before
Loren Nelson finished her match with an identical score at the No. 3 spot.
Agata Jurczak,
Nicole Clarke and
Anna Daniel Fuentes had strong performances as well to close out the season. All three won in straight sets and didn't play more than four games in a set.
Milwaukee finished the season with a 7-16 record overall and a 3-6 mark in the Horizon League, taking seventh in the league standings and just missing the conference tournament.
