Serves Up: Panthers Wrap Up Regular Season this Weekend

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee tennis team will put a bow on the regular season this weekend when it wraps up Horizon League play with a single match against Green Bay on Sat., April 21.
 
WHEN & WHERE: The Panthers will play host one last time to Green Bay beginning at 1 p.m. from River Glen Elite. The Panthers hold a 6-4 advantage over opponents when hosting
 
LAST TIME OUT: Milwaukee split a pair of conference matches last weekend as they hosted UIC (April 14) and IUPUI (April15). On Saturday, the Panthers fell second place UIC 6-1, but came back the following day and flipped the score to beat IUPUI 6-1.
 
Sophomore Nicole Clarke went 3-1 on the weekend with two wins at singles and a split in doubles.
 
SCOUTING GREEN BAY: The Green Bay Phoenix sit two spots below Milwaukee in Horizon League standings with an 0-7 conference mark.
 
Green Bay's lone win this season (1-12) comes over St. Norbert College back on March 2 defeating the Green Knights 4-3.
 
The Phoenix lead the series 26-12 over the Panthers, but Milwaukee has won six straight since 2011.
 
SEASON IN REVIEW: First year head coach Jason Potthoff entered the season with just two returning Panthers in Labina Petrovska and Nicole Clarke. Milwaukee holds an 6-16 overall record and 2-6 mark in conference play. The young Panther squad struggled early in the season but continued to gain valuable experience throughout and came out with a three-match win streak in the middle of its non-conference season. Sophomore Nicole Clarke leads all Panthers will 11 victories while tallying eight in doubles play.
 
SENIOR SATURDAY: Saturday's match against Green Bay will serve as the final home match in the career of senior Labina Petrovska. In three seasons in the black and gold, the Birmingham, Mich., native has accumulated 74 wins and a total of 91 career wins. As a sophomore, Petrovska was name First Team All-horizon league recording 16 singles wins and 15 doubles victories on the year.
