YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nicole Clarke picked up her seventh victory this season, but it was not enough as the Milwaukee Tennis dropped its league opener to Youngstown State Saturday, 6-1.
Milwaukee (4-11, 0-1) struggled from start to finish against last season's Horizon League Champions, Youngstown State (7-9, 1-0). The Penguins took the doubles point and nearly swept singles if it weren't for
Nicole Clarke.
Clarke defeated her opponent Tamara Teufl 6-1, 6-2, securing the only point for the Panthers.
Milwaukee looks to rebound from Youngstown State tomorrow as they travel to Cleveland State and continue conference play. First serve at the Medical Mutal Tennis Pavilion is set for 10 a.m. central.
