Milwaukee Women’s Soccer Signs Seven To NLI’s

Class grows to 14 with group that enrolled in January

MILWAUKEE - Natalie Auble of Plainfield, Ill., Julia Barajas of Corona, Calif., Maggy Henschler of Milton, Wis., Rafferty Kugler of St. Louis Park, Minn., Haley Steel of Lakeville, Minn., Sam Stutsman of O'Fallon, Ill., and Maggie Woods of Machesney Park, Ill., have all signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Milwaukee women's soccer team.
 
"We are excited to welcome the 2018 class to the program," head coach Troy Fabiano said. "For the past three years, we have been able to watch them develop into outstanding students, soccer players and young women. It's a quality group that we expect to contribute immediately and will improve our program both short and long term."
 
*Natalie Auble/Plainfield North High School/Plainfield, Ill.*
Auble has spent the past six years playing club soccer for Chicago Inter Soccer Club. She also played one season at Plainfield North High School – where she has been on the Dean's List every semester – leading the team in scoring when she tallied 11 goals and nine assists.
 
*Julia Barajas/Mater Dei High School/Corona, Calif.*
Barajas is a four-year member of the soccer team at Mater Dei High School, earning First-Team All-Trinity League honors. She is also a 10-year member of her club team, Corinthias SC.
 
*Maggy Henschler/Milton High School/Milton, Wis.*
Henschler is a two-sport athlete at Milton High School, excelling in both soccer and hockey. On the soccer field, she is a First-Team All-Badger South Conference honoree as well as the team captain for club Rush Wisconsin. The National Honor Society member is also an all-league hockey player who currently is one of the top scorers in the state on the ice.
 
*Rafferty Kugler/Saint Louis Park High School/St. Louis Park, Minn.*
Kugler is a four-year member of the soccer team at Saint Louis Park High School, serving as the team captain each of her final two seasons. The National Honor Society member has earned all-conference accolades in addition to claiming team awards for Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Attacker. She has spent eight years with her club team, the Minneapolis United Inferno, helping them reach the state championship game.
 
*Haley Steel/Lakeville North High School/Lakeville, Minn.*
Steel has put together an impressive resume at Lakeville North High School, starting with being a four-time all-conference honoree while leading her team to four state tournament appearances in a row. She was Rookie of the Year in 2014 and is a three-time all-state honoree, topped off by first-team all-state recognition her final two seasons. The team captain as a senior, the National Honor Society member was also tabbed Midwest All-Region on the soccer field in 2017.
 
*Sam Stutsman/O'Fallon Township High School/O'Fallon, Ill.*
Stutsman has been a four-year starter at O'Fallon Township High School. A key piece of the offense, she has led her team in scoring every year and earned IHSSCA All-Sectional Honors, Belleville News-Democrat Second Team All-Area and was also named to Prep Soccer Report's "Top 40 Forwards to Watch in the State".
 
*Maggie Woods/Boylan Catholic High School/Machesney Park, Ill.*
Woods has put together impressive numbers for both her Boylan Catholic High School squad as well as her club team, the Rockford Raptors. As a junior, she earned All-Northern Illinois Conference First-Team honors, all-sectional and All-Area Best of Rock River Valley first-team accolades after recording 12 goals and 12 assists. She added 42 goals and 17 assists in the club season and followed that up this year with 32 more goals and 14 assists.
 
The group brings the total to 14 newcomers who have joined the Milwaukee program for the 2018 season when combined with the seven student-athletes who started school at the semester break at UWM.
 
Jelena Sever of Franklin, Wis., Elaina LaMacchia of Mequon, Wis., Taylor Hattori of Hartland, Wis., Haley Johnson of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and Kelsey Gallagher of Orland Park, Ill., are all enrolled after graduating high school early. In addition, Jessica Schoenfeldt of Crystal Lake, Ill. (previously at Fort Wayne), and Chandler McDaniel of Corona, Calif. (from Virginia Tech), have transferred into the program.
