Panthers Add Memphis Transfer Grzebien To Roster

MILWAUKEE – Allison Grzebien of Des Plaines, Ill., is transferring from Memphis University to Milwaukee and will play volleyball, Panther head coach Susie Johnson announced today.

Grzebien played two seasons with the Tigers after an impressive prep career at Maine West High School just across the state line in Des Plaines, Ill.

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter received her release from Memphis, making her eligible immediately. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"Allison has been a nice addition to our squad this spring," Johnson said. "She has a wonderful and hard workmanship about her. She comes to us with Division-I experience and has a lot of maturity. She will be a great team player for this program."

Grzebien was a high school standout in the Chicago area, earning all-conference and all-area honors each of her final three prep seasons. She helped Warriors to a state tournament berth her senior season, where she racked up an impressive stat line of 187 kills, 194 digs, 43 blocks and 21 service aces.

In her time at Memphis, Grzebien played in 17 matches, tallying 16 kills, 14 digs and 14 blocks.

The Panthers will start their 2018 spring schedule March 10 when they play host to Northwestern.
