Hot-Shooting Phoenix Too Much For Milwaukee

Panthers face Youngstown State Thursday

MILWAUKEE – Allie LeClaire scored 16 points to lead No. 20/17 Green Bay to a 65-36 win over the Milwaukee women's basketball team Saturday afternoon from the Klotsche Center.

The nationally ranked Phoenix (22-2, 12-1 Horizon) finished one shy of a season high with 10 made threes on just 21 attempts to open up a close game midway through the second quarter.

Brandi Bisping tallied a career-high seven points on 2-of-2 shooting to go with three free-throws to lead the way for Milwaukee (17-8, 8-5 Horizon). Steph Kostowicz returned to the court for the first time in two weeks after being sidelined with injury to finish with seven points, three rebounds and a pair of blocks.

The Panthers never quite found their shot against the top-ranked defense in the nation, finishing just 11-of-40 (.275) from the floor, including 4-of-20 from behind the arc.

UWM returns to the court with the start of a three-game swing away from home Thursday at Youngstown State.
