Milwaukee returns to action next Friday at Green Bay

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Panthers swept through doubles play but couldn't quite hang on in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Oakland Sunday afternoon from Oakland Tennis Courts.

Milwaukee jumped out to a great start with a clean sweep in doubles play.

Nicole Clarke and Eszter Zador started things off with a convincing 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot. Alysa Straub and Berta Masdevall Masip the gave Milwaukee the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the top spot, before Labina Petrovska and Hayley Marshall completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory.

Things were much closer in singles play.

Masdevall Masip notched a 6-4, 7-6 (6) win at the No. 3 spot.

Zador gave UWM its third point of the day with a big 'W' at the second spot. The freshman battled before coming out on top, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.

Milwaukee had numerous other great showings – including two more three setters at the first and fourth spots – but came up just short on the road.

The Panthers now have a week to regroup before returning to action next Friday with a road match at Green Bay.
