Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Phoenix Slip By Panthers

Wallenberger led all players with 20 kills

MILWAUKEEBridget Wallenberger had 20 kills but it wasn't enough as the Milwaukee volleyball team fell, 3-0 Saturday evening to Green Bay from the Klotsche Center.

In a match that had nine lead changes and 21 ties, Green Bay (11-12, 7-5 Horizon) was able to find a way late in each set for the win, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22.

"There were a lot of positives from today, but we have to be able to sustain within a match and finish, and we weren't able to do that," Milwaukee head coach Susie Johnson said. "We were able to get a lot of kills, but we had way too many errors. That makes it hard because Green Bay was very efficient today and they finished. That was the difference."

Wallenberger continued her recent outstanding work on the attack, finishing with a match-high 20 kills and two blocks, while hitting .410. Her 20 kills marks the 10th-highest total in a three set match in program history.

Jenn Dore dished out another 39 assists, while Mykie Olsen finished with 14 digs and five assists.

Taylor Wolf led the Phoenix attack and was one of three GB players with 12 kills on the night.

Milwaukee actually finished the match with one more kill than Green Bay (47-46), while the Phoenix claimed the slight edge in digs, 48-46.

UWM is right back at it Sunday, heading to UIC for a 4pm contest from the Flames Athletic Center.
