EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Milwaukee tennis team caps off the fall season with a few wins, led by Joie Beth Freirich and Nicole Clarke to wrap up the SIUE Indoor Invite today at the Edwardsville (Ill.) YMCA.
 
Day two of the invite showed better results beginning with senior Labina Petrovska. Petrovska won her first match against Wright State's Haily Morgan, 6-1, 6-2 in the consolation semifinal. In the consolation final, Petrovska won the first set 6-4, but lost a nail-biter in the second 7-6 (7-4), and lost the tiebreaker 10-8.
 
"After yesterday's matches, we were a little disappointed with our performances, so it was our goal to do a better job of competing today and I thought we did just that," said head coach Jason Potthoff. "We took some strides forward this fall, and now we know what we need to work on going into our spring season."

Sophomores Anna Daniel Fuentes and Nicole Clarke picked up a win each today as well. Fuentes defeated Wright States Anna Marie Reynolds (WSU) 7-6, 7-5, while Clarke beat fellow Raider Grace Whitney 6-1, 6-3.
 
In doubles play, Nicole Clarke and Joie Beth Freirich continued their doubles play dominance as they won both of their matches again today winning handedly 6-2 in the first match and 6-3 in their final match.
 
The Panthers head into the off-season as their next competition date isn't until Jan. 19, 2018 against Omaha, in Omaha, Neb.
