Panther Tennis Kicks Off 2017 Season Saturday

Team hosts Colorado State Saturday

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's tennis team is set to kick off its 2017 season this weekend, playing host to Colorado State at 12:30 pm from North Shore Elite.

Scouting The Opponent
The Rams come to Milwaukee just one match into their season – a 7-0 loss to in-state rival Colorado.

CSU is led by first-year head coach Jarod Camerota after one year as the program's first full-time assistant. Camerota has a very young roster this season, with four freshman and one sophomore comprising five of the seven spots. There is one local tie to the Colorado State roster in sophomore Emily Kolbow, who played high school at Arrowhead High School.

A Look At Last Year
Milwaukee continued its trend in the right direction in 2016, as Jeff Aranda led the team to a 12-10 record overall – their third winning season in the last four years.

Aranda – who was named the program's 10^th coach in program history – had instant success, highlighted by a 6-3 mark in league play. A pair of Panthers earned All-Horizon League honors, as Labina Petrovska was named to the first-team squad and Hayley Marshall second-team all league.
