Petrovska, Lobanova Take Doubles Title In Tournament Finale

Panthers win 24 total matches at NIU

DeKalb, Ill. – Labina Petrovska and Masha Lobanova brought home a doubles title to headline the final day of action for the Milwaukee tennis team at the Huskie Invite hosted by Northern Illinois Sunday at West Tennis Courts.

The Panthers won five more matches Sunday, upping their total to an impressive 24 in just three days of work in the first action of the fall campaign.

Petrovska and Lobanova continued their dominance over the Black Doubles division with a 6-3 win over Eliff Gabb and Molly Crum of South Dakota State, 6-3. The win gave the Panther duo a stellar 6-0 record after the first weekend of action, claiming Milwaukee's first tournament title of the year.

In the same doubles flight, Aerielle Pendleton won yet another match while paired up with Isabella Chela of SDSU.

In singles action, freshman Eszter Zador wrapped up her first collegiate weekend with a consolation title in the Red Singles bracket. Zador took down Morgan Brower of SDSU, 6-4, 6-3, for her fourth-straight win of the weekend.

Alysa Straub and Berta Masdevall Masip also claimed wins for UWM on the day, giving the Panthers an impressive 24 wins on the opening weekend.

Milwaukee returns to action Friday, Sept. 23 for three days of action at the Gopher Invitational hosted by Minnesota.
