Lobanova, Zador Lead Milwaukee In Day Two At NIU

Panthers win 10 more matches Saturday

DeKalb, Ill. – Masha Lobanova and Eszter Zador each advanced to the consolation finals of their flights as the Milwaukee tennis team put together another strong day of performances in the second of three days of action at the Huskie Invite hosted by Northern Illinois Saturday at West Tennis Courts.

In the top flight, Zador – just a freshman and playing in the first matches of her collegiate career – advanced through two opponents to Sunday's consolation final. The newcomer first took down Brodie Walker of NIU before a win over Maria Vazco of South Dakota State.

In the other bracket, Lobanova defeated Hailey Bruining of Lewis, 6-1, 6-0, before a 6-1, 6-1 win over Emily Van Dijk of SDSU to also advance to the consolation final.

The Panthers weren't done there, though. Labina Petrovska and Hayley Marshall also added big wins on the day and will continue their action on Sunday.

In doubles play, Marshall and Berta Masdevall Masip won both of their matches on the day, including a narrow decision over teammates Zador and Alysa Straub.

In the other bracket, Petrovska and Lobanova teamed up for a pair of wins on the day to improve to 5-0 on the weekend.

The Panthers will close out their first tournament of the season Sunday with the conclusion of the Huskie Invite.
