Pendleton’s Win Sends Panthers Past Cougars

Milwaukee finishes homestand 3-3

MILWAUKEE – With the match on the line, Aerielle Pendleton came up big, helping the Milwaukee women's tennis team to a 4-3 win over Chicago State Saturday afternoon from North Shore Elite.
 
Milwaukee (4-5) closes out its six-game homestand with a 3-3 record following Saturday's big win.
 
Up 3-2 with just two matches still going on, the Panthers sealed the win with a big win by Pendleton, The junior battled for a 7-6 win in the opening set before an emphatic, 6-0 victory in the second to seal the team W.
 
The Panthers also got singles wins on the day from Labina Petrovska, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 1 spot, and from Laurie Clark, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot.
 
That came on the heels Milwaukee convincingly grabbing the doubles point.
 
Alysa Straub teamed up with Clark for a 6-2 win at the top spot, while Hayley Marshall and Petrovska also took the No. 2 match, 6-2.
 
The Panthers hit the road for the first time in a month next week when they head to Northern Iowa to take on those Panthers on Friday.
