Results

Waterloo, Iowa
– Aerielle Pendleton, Christina Colarossi and Hayley Marshall all claimed singles wins for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee tennis team but the Panther came up just short, falling in a hard-fought, 4-3 decision to the University of Northern Iowa inside the Black Hawk Tennis Club Sunday.

Milwaukee pushed a very talented UNI team to the limit in the three and a half hour match, nearly ending their home-winning streak, which now stands at 15 straight.

Marshall grabbed the first win in singles action for UWM. The sophomore made quick work of Savanna Hunt, going 6-2, 6-1 for the win.

Colarossi had to battle at the No. 5 spot to tally a hard-fought win. After dropping the opening set, the senior captain fought all the way back to claim a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory.

At the No. 4 spot, Pendleton also notched a win for the Panthers. In a back-and-forth match, Pendleton won the first set, 7-5, dropped set No. 2, 2-6, before outlasting Gisela Kemper in the third and final set for the win.

In doubles action, Marshall and senior Chelsea Bailey cruised to a 6-2 win over Kemper and Hunt for the early doubles lead but it just wasn't enough against the tough UNI squad.

Milwaukee continues its early-season road swing with a trip to Northern Illinois on Thursday to take on the Huskies at 2 p.m.
