Panthers Finish Fall Season At ITA Regional

Clark, Petrovska put up solid fights before bowing out

Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee tennis team wrapped up its 2015 fall season with more impressive results at the ITA Regional on Michigan's campus Friday.

A pair of Panthers started the day in the round of 16 in singles play with a berth to the main draw on the line.

Sophomore Labina Petrovska started things off, winning her opening set but coming up just short, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4.

Laurie Clark also did well against some of the region's best this week. The freshman also claimed the opening set win Friday but couldn't quite find her rhythm in the final two, falling 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles play, Petrovska and Alysa Straub teamed up for an opening win. The duo battled for a hard-fought, 8-6 win over the pairing from conference foe Cleveland State to advance to the second round. Milwaukee's only doubles tandem on the weekend came up just short in their second match of the day, closing out the regional competition for the Panthers.

This concludes a very successful fall schedule for Milwaukee.
