Tiffany Martin Named To UWM Academic Assistance Staff

Joins staff on permanent basis

Tiffany Martin has been hired as an Academic Advisor on the staff of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Athletic Department, Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services Kelly Diener announced today.

"Tiffany is a joy to work with and she made the most of the internship opportunity she had prior to this," Diener said. "She cares deeply about student-athletes, which has allowed her to forge meaningful relationships with her teams as well as coaches in a short period of time. We are excited to have her join our staff permanently."

In June of 2014, Martin stepped into a temporary role as an assistant athletics academic advisor. She worked with student-athletes on several teams including women's basketball, tennis, men's soccer, women's soccer, cross country, track & field and swimming & diving over the course of the past six months.

"The experience she gained in our office, coupled with her work ethic and desire to help people succeed prepared her to step into the full-time position," Diener said.

Martin completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Carthage College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science and a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis on Leadership.

After playing for the women's soccer team at Carthage, Martin stayed involved in athletics after graduation. She was an assistant coach for women's lacrosse at her alma mater in 2014 and an assistant softball and soccer coach at Hiram College in 2010. She has also worked as a personal trainer and head club soccer coach.
