Straub Claims Fifth Place In Singles Flight As Panthers Wrap Up Gopher Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Freshman Alysa Straub won her singles match Sunday to claim fifth place in the Gopher Flight as the Gopher Invitational wrapped up.

Straub was UWM's best individual finisher with the win, which came in straight-sets over Caroline Andersen of Iowa State.

Chelsea Bailey wound up sixth in the Maroon Flight after falling in her lone match Sunday, suffering a 6-3, 6-4 defeat at the hands of Franziska Koehler of Gonzaga.

Meanwhile, Straub and Hayley Marshall finished 10th in the Maroon Doubles Flight after a hard-fought 9-7 loss to a duo from Eastern Michigan.

Dana Shannon and Aerielle Pendleton had wrapped up the championship of the Gopher Doubles Flight yesterday.

UWM's fall schedule continues next week at the Northern Iowa Invitational.
