MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team swept through singles and doubles play to claim a 7-0 win over UW-Whitewater Saturday at North Shore Elite.

The Panthers (8-5) claimed their fifth win in a row as a team, equaling the longest streak in school history. In fact, it is the longest winning streak for a Milwaukee tennis team in 16 years.

"I am very happy we tied the school record for most consecutive wins in a row with five," Milwaukee head coach Sean McInerney said. "It is a nice thing for this group to have achieved and something to be very proud of. I am looking forward to taking the next couple of weeks to improve and get ready for conference play."

Milwaukee did not drop a set in any of the six singles contests, with Maddy Soule winning all 12 of her games in recording a sweep in the top slot. The Panthers also won all three doubles contests, with the tightest an 8-5 win by Brittany Skemp and Chelsea Bailey in the second spot.

UWM is off until March 26 when it hosts Akron at North Shore Elite.
