ROCKFORD, Ill. - Aerielle Pendleton and Kristin Kurer each advanced to singles flight championship matches on day two of the Second Chance Regional in Rockford.

Pendleton beat Cristina Alvarez of Northern Illinois, 6-3, 7-5, to advance to a Sunday title matchup with Kathryn Sharples of UIC. Kurer knocked off Sabrine Navarro of Chicago State, 6-3, 6-1, moving on to a Sunday showdown with Marianna Lacerda of UIC.

Other action Saturday saw Dana Shannon, Chelsea Bailey and Alysa Straub fall in singles matches, with Shannon and Straub losing against players from Marquette while Bailey lost to Helen Rabot of Wisconsin.

In doubles play, Stephanie Londre and Claudia Negron of Green Bay captured an 8-7 win over Shannon and Pendleton, while Lacerda and Ann Sophie Hahn of UIC beat Straub and Kurer, 8-4.
