MILWAUKEE - Maddy Soule became the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's all-time leader in singles victories as the Panthers split a pair of matches this weekend.

As a team, UWM knocked off IUPUI, 6-1, Friday night before falling to Ball State, 5-2, Saturday morning.

Soule claimed victories in the top singles spot in the contests against IUPUI and Ball State, giving her 59 in two-plus season in Milwaukee.

The senior also teamed with Christina Colarossi to capture a pair of doubles victories. Against IUPUI, the win in doubles helped Milwaukee claim the doubles point, with the Panthers then winning five of the six singles contests to wrap up the victory.

Against Ball State, Dana Shannon also claimed a singles victory but UWM couldn't get over the hump in the other two doubles matches or the other four singles contests.

Shannon went 2-0 in singles play for the weekend, winning in straight-sets Friday against IUPUI before claiming a hard-fought three-setter Saturday. Shannon and Kelly Fritz also teamed up for a doubles win Friday, while Chelsea Bailey, Christina Colarossi and Kristin Kurer were responsible for Milwaukee's other singles wins Friday night.

UWM comes back to Milwaukee for a pair of matches next weekend. The Panthers will host DePaul at North Shore Elite Friday afternoon before playing at Marquette Sunday.
