MILWAUKEE - Julie Kolinske had 16 kills and 19 digs as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's volleyball team got back on the winning track with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 win over SEMO Saturday afternoon on day two of the Panther Invitational.

The Panthers (3-3) hit .267 in the contest and were in control from the middle of the first set on. Elizabeth Egerer added 13 kills and Rachel Neuberger 10, while setter Kayla Price racked up 42 assists in the three-set victory.

Milwaukee's effort was solid all-around. Along with the strong offensive numbers, the Panthers tallied eight blocks in forcing 24 Redhawk hitting errors. Plus, UWM collected 58 digs, with Anna Bartz adding 13 to the match-high 19 by Kolinske.

Emily Coon led SEMO (4-3) with 12 kills.

Milwaukee took the lead for good in the first set at 17-16 on a SEMO error. The lead grew to 20-17 on a kill by Kolinske and was 23-18 after two-straight kills from Egerer. The Redhawks did close to within 23-21 but Milwaukee finished things out with two more Egerer kills.

The Panthers led nearly the entire way in the second set. They used a five-point burst to grab a 14-9 lead and led 19-12 on an ace by Hannah Blanchard. The lead was still 21-16 on a kill by Egerer and hit 24-18 on a block by Egerer and Neuberger. After three SEMO points, a kill by Neuberger wrapped things up and put the Panthers in control of the match.

UWM again steadily claimed control of the third set. The Panthers went ahead 10-9 on a kill by Egerer and made it 16-12 on a Blanchard kill. The advantage hit 20-15 on a kill by Kolinske before Milwaukee had to hold off a surge by SEMO. But, after the Redhawks pulled to within 22-21, two kills by Blanchard restored control before a kill by Neuberger put Milwaukee in the win column.

In action earlier Saturday, Bradley cruised to a three-set win over East Carolina as the Braves remained unbeaten on the season.

The rest of the tournament wraps up Saturday evening with Bradley facing Western Michigan at 4:30 before Milwaukee and East Carolina square off at 7 p.m.
