ORLANDO, Fla. -
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team rolled through all six singles matches and all three doubles contests in claiming a 7-0 win over Hope College to open its spring trip Monday afternoon.
The Panthers (9-5) were never threatened in the match, winning each of the singles contests in straight sets while controlling all three doubles matchups.
Maddy Soule led the way in singles play from the top spot, winning her 11th match of the spring. Freshman Chelsea Bailey reached double figures in wins for the spring with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the second slot. Kelly Fritz, Christina Colarossi, Kristin Kurer and Megan Gow also cruised to wins in singles action.
UWM took control of the match from the outset by easily winning the doubles point. Soule and Colarossi won for the ninth-straight time this spring in the top spot, while the tandems of Gow and Beth Ganser plus Fritz and Kurer also claimed victories.
Milwaukee wraps up its play in Florida with a Wednesday match against Cincinnati.
