Panthers Start Busy Weekend With Loss At Marquette

MILWAUKEE - Marquette won all six singles matches and two of the three doubles contests in claiming a 7-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Thursday night at the Helfaer Tennis Center.

Kelly Fritz and Kristin Kurer did capture a 9-8 win in the third doubles slot but it was the only match the Panthers could pull out.

Maddy Soule was competitive in the top spot, falling 6-4, 6-3 to Gillian Hush. Christina Colarossi also put up a strong fight in the fourth slot before dropping a 7-5, 6-3 decision.

Soule and Colarossi teamed up to hang tough in the top doubles slot before falling, 8-6.

UWM continues a busy weekend with home matches against IUPUI Friday and Drake Saturday.
