Panthers End Run At ITA Regionals; Claim Doubles Win At Second Chance Event

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team saw its nice run in the ITA Regionals come to a close with a pair of losses Saturday.

But, at the ITA Second Chance Regional in Rockford, Ill., the Panther tandem of Brittany Skemp and Kristin Kurer captured fifth place in their doubles flight.

In singles action at the ITAs, Maddy Soule dropped a straight-sets decision to Angelina Jogasuria of Akron in the main draw. In doubles play, Soule and Christina Colarossi fell, 8-4, to a tandem from Youngstown State in the round of 16 of the event.

At the second chance event, Skemp and Kurer captured a 9-7 win over a tandem from Detroit. In singles play, Skemp dropped a 6-0, 5-7 (8) decision to Chloe Karoub of Detroit while Kurer fell 7-6, 6-3 to Maggie Remynse of Western Michigan.

Kurer will face Haley Dekkinga of Northern Illinois for third place in her singles flight Sunday.
