GREEN BAY, Wis. (Oct. 19, 2012) - Krissy Dorre scored two first-half goals to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Green Bay Friday evening at Aldo Santaga Stadium.

The Panthers (5-7-1, 4-2 Horizon) have now won three-straight games and moved into a first place tie in the Horizon League standings with 12 points.

"Once again our team showed their colors. They gutted it out and played really hard," Milwaukee head coach Greg Henschel said. "Their effort was tremendous. Green Bay played a strong match and our (team) deserves a lot of credit for getting the win."

Dorre got the scoring started in just the eighth minute, unassisted. She got the ball and cut to the endline, spun around a defender and dribbled in on goal unabated. She then knocked a shot to the far post and in.

Green Bay (4-10-1, 1-3-1 Horizon) was not down for long, equalizing just 11 seconds later. Off the kickoff, Hekla Palmadottir found a streaking Megan Braatz. Braatz dribbled in on goal and finished to even the game at 1-1. It was the fastest back-to-back goals in school history, trumping the 12 seconds it took Milwaukee to match Purdue Oct. 30, 2004.

The game did not stay even for long, as Dorre was back at it in the 30th minute. On a throw-in, Emily Scott played a long serve from the midfield stripe that Kelly Lewers headed into the box. Dorre ran onto the ball, dribbled around the keeper and tallied the game-winner.

Milwaukee controlled possession early on, but the Phoenix found a spark after its goal. Over time, the Panthers continued to assert itself more and held the bulk of possession for much of the rest of the match.

In the second half, UWM had a number of extended attacking possessions, but seemed one part from some dangerous scoring chances. Meanwhile, the Phoenix used some long balls to get some countering chances. Jamie Forbes came up big with a couple of nice 1v1 saves to keep the score line unchanged.

Forbes finished with four saves in the match. On the other end, Katy Pilarzyk played the first 80-plus minutes and made three saves. Nastacia Behle played the final 9:47 and made a save.

Both teams took 11 shots in the game, while Milwaukee had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Panthers return home Sunday to host Oklahoma State in a non-league matchup. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
