Panthers Wrap Up Weekend Of Action At Drake Invite

DES MOINES, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team wrapped up play in the Drake Invitational with a handful of matches Sunday.

Brittany Skemp captured two wins and Maddy Soule one to highlight the final results of the weekend.

Skemp's victories came in Flight D, as she beat Amanda Noonan of Creighton, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1, and Amanda Dick of Drake, 6-0, 6-0.

Soule claimed an impressive win in Flight A, beating Carla Venticinque of Wichita State, 6-4, 6-2. Venticinque was part of the doubles tandem that beat Soule and Christina Colarossi in the title match.

Earlier in the weekend, Soule and Colarossi had advanced to the final of Flight A doubles with two wins while Chelsea Bailey and Kristin Kurer also teamed up for a pair of wins.

A handful of matches across the tournament have not yet had results reported, including a match involving Kristin Kurer, or were not played.

The Panthers return to action next weekend, heading to Minneapolis for the Minnesota Invite Friday-Sunday.
