CHICAGO - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee won five singles matches and a pair of doubles contests over two days at the UIC Invite.

The small event, which included the host Flames, the Panthers and the University of Chicago, did give Milwaukee a chance to see how it would stack up against the 15-time defending Horizon League champions from UIC.

The highlight for UWM came Friday, when the Panthers' top doubles team of Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi claimed a pair of wins. The tandem beat UIC's top team, 8-5, before knocking off the University of Chicago, 8-1. The Flames' top doubles tandem included Horizon League Player of the Year Mariya Kovaleva.

In single action Saturday, Soule, Chelsea Bailey, Kristin Kurer, Beth Ganser and Brittany Skemp all claimed wins.
