Men's Basketball November 01, 2010 Balanced Attack Paces Panthers In 86-37 Win Over MSOE Nov. 1, 2010 Box Score | MILWAUKEE - Tone Boyle and Evan Richard scored 12 points apiece as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team opened exhibition play with an 86-37 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering Monday night at the Klotsche Center. The Panthers held the Raiders to just 25.9 percent shooting for the game, with MSOE making just 5-of-33 shots in the second half. Anthony Hill added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Kaylon Williams had nine points and five assists. UWM had seven different players score at least seven points. The Panthers led by 18 points at halftime and then consistently expanded the advantage in the second half. All 15 players that dressed for UWM played in the game. Austin Meier led MSOE with 14 points. "Obviously I was pleased with a lot of things that happened," UWM head coach Rob Jeter said. "But just like any exhibition game, I think you see a lot of good things and then you see some things that you want to improve on." The Panthers wasted little time in taking control of the game, going up 12-5 when Williams and Ryan Allen connected on an alley-oop dunk less than five minutes into the contest. The lead hit double digits for the first time on two Hill free throws and grew to 29-7 on a pair of free throws from Boyle. Milwaukee led 40-22 at the half and that edge grew to 53-27 on a three-pointer by Tony Meier with 16:37 to play. The advantage was 69-31 when Kyle Kelm tipped in a Ryan Haggerty miss and hit 81-36 on a three-pointer by Richard. UWM then led by as many as 50 points late in the game. UWM wound up shooting 50.9 percent from the floor for the game, making 8-of-17 from three-point range. The Panthers also got to the foul line 30 times.
