EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests to claim a 7-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Sunday morning at the Evergreen Racquet and Fitness Club.

The Flames showed why they have won the last 11 Horizon League titles in cruising to the victory in their league opener.

The Panthers (7-7, 2-1) saw their three-match overall winning streak snapped.

UWM best chance to break through with a victory came at #2 singles, where Kari Kastenholz pushed Kristen McPhillips before falling, 6-2, 7-5. The Panthers were also competitive in all three doubles matches before losing.

Milwaukee returns to action next weekend with a pair of league matches. The Panthers play at Valparaiso Friday before hosting Cleveland State Sunday.
