MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the University of Illinois at Chicago Wednesday afternoon at the Paley Tennis Center.

The Flames, who have won the last 11 league titles, controlled the action throughout the afternoon. UIC won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests.

Jenna Felsher put up the best fight for the Panthers (11-11, 3-4), dropping a, 6-3, 6-3, decision at #4 singles. Also, Lauren Fenley fell, 6-4, 6-0, in the #6 slot.

"Clearly UIC is the best team in the league," UWM head coach Matt McCaskill said. "What makes them the best, in addition to their abilities, are that they play with a lot of confidence and they play hard from start to finish. We competed at times but we are not yet at the level they are."

The Panthers are still hopeful of a top-five finish in the league regular season, with Saturday's home finale against Green Bay a crucial match in that quest.

"Saturday is a big match because it is Green Bay and a chance to probably wrap up a top-five finish," McCaskill said. "Hopefully we will finish strong and get ourselves ready for the league championships next week."
