OXFORD, Ohio - Michael Bramos scored 26 points and Miami University limited the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to just 32.1 percent shooting from the field in claiming a 69-45 win Thursday night at Millett Hall.

The RedHawks (5-3) used a 23-4 run to take control of the game by halftime.

Tone Boyle, Avery Smith and Charlie Swiggett each scored eight points apiece for Milwaukee (5-5), which was held to season-lows for points and shooting percentage.

Carl Richburg, who got his first start of the season in place of the injured Kenny Hayes, added 14 points for Miami, which has won three-straight games.

UWM could never get its best shooters on track offensively, as Boyle hit on just 3-of-11 from the field while Tony Meier made just 1-of-8.

"Miami is a veteran team with a lot of seniors on the floor," UWM head coach Rob Jeter said. "They play very tough, they contest every shot, and because of that they make you shoot very poor percentages."

After Milwaukee claimed an early 13-12 advantage, the RedHawks scored 13 of the next 15 points to build a 25-15 lead. A Bramos three with 4:08 remaining in the half capped that first burst.

Then, after two free throws by Deonte Roberts, Miami scored 10 of the next 12 to carry a 35-17 lead into the locker room. In all, UWM made just one field over the final nine-plus minutes of the first half.

"We get a couple of our guys into foul trouble and it changes the makeup of our team," Jeter said of the troubles the Panthers have had at the end of the first half. "Then we have different combinations out there that we have to get better at, because if this is what is going to happen to us, off the bench we have to make sure we are prepared for that."

Bramos didn't let up in the second half, hitting two more threes to push the Miami lead to 41-21. A three-pointer by Meier helped bring the Panthers within 13 at 43-30, but Milwaukee would never get any closer. A Bramos three pushed the lead back to 50-30 and Miami never looked back after that.

UWM will now take a break for final exams before returning to action Dec. 20 by hosting Bradley.
