MINNEAPOLIS -
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday to opens its spring dual-meet schedule.
The Panthers fell to Drake, 7-0, before bouncing back to beat South Dakota State, 7-0.
The two matches are a lead-up to Sunday's stiff test against Minnesota.
Saturday, the Panthers swept all six singles matches and all three doubles contests in convincing fashion against the Jackrabbits. Meanwhile, in the earlier contest with the Bulldogs, Milwaukee struggled to get on track in dropping all of the matches.
"We played well against South Dakota State and beat them soundly," head coach Matt McCaskill said. "We had a few bright spots against Drake, but in general they were dominant. Kari Kastenholz and Kelly Drvaric played really well at one doubles, nearly pulling out a win against Drake. We know we will face our toughest test this season against Minnesota so I am interested to see how we handle it."
